Phony in Chief

I liked the article in Salon by Jeremy Heimans and Tim Dixon that says the way to defeat Bush is to expose him as a phony, a macho man who says “Bring ’em on” from behind the safety of his desk, a warrior who gets flown onto a aircraft carrier but who went AWOL during his cushy tenure in the military, a CEO who never ran a company that his Daddy’s pals didn’t have to bail him out of. If leadership and character count, then this is a legitimate complaint.

…Oh, and his policies — economic, environmental, diplomatic, security-istic — have been disastrous.

  1. Has anyone suggested/considered a “bushisaphony.com” website, satirizing via text, images and links to the mountains of evidence ?

  2. And, I know about dystopical.org – but it’s Flesch Reading level and cleverness might sail over the heads of many.

  3. Why don’t you quit lying about Bush’s record? You need to quit acting like a little baby and field a candidate that can actually present a good stance on the issues. You think Howard Dean, the Vermont liberal, is your man? In Bush parlance, bring ’em on. The only Dems that scare me are Lieberman and Clinton. Lieberman actually makes sense much of the time, and Clinton is the only person powerful enough to get the party in lockstep and marshal the resources to run a real campaign.

  4. In addition to outing Bush’s phoniness and his use of the language of learned helplessness, the Dems need to provide a positive alternative vision of a safe, free, and prosperous country.

  6. That seems like it might have been a good strategy in 2000.
