David's right - to suspend disbelief is to accept something which you'd otherwise reject, so presumably suspending belief would involve a kind of phenomenological epoche or else an existentialist crise. Either that or you just wouldn't get out of bed in the morning, because you wouldn't be able to take anything for granted (presence of stairs, presence of bedroom floor, presence of feet on end of legs...)

Oh, they just put that stuff in to appease Legal. It’s still true, just like they say, that the earth isn’t undergoing global warming… it’s just menopause. (Wouldn’t it be fun to write for them?)
