If part of the spectrum is not set aside and used to provide free or affordable internet access then it really is time for the U.S. to adopt a national policy that establishes specific goals for the deployment of high speed affordable internet access for every single resident.

Check out the Communications Workers of America’s website at http://www.speedmatters.org. Read their policy paper, because speed does matter when it comes to high-tech innovation, job growth, telemedicine, distance learning, and rural development.
