Free book on search interfaces
Berkeley’s Marti Hearst, who was way ahead of everyone else in faceted classification (e.g.,flamenco) , has written a a definitive book on user interfaces to search engines. And it’s up on the Web for free, if that’s the way you roll. Thanks, Marti!

that is, indeed,
how i roll
I thought you might, SY.
BTW, my children _hate_ it when I use the “roll” phrase. I just tell them, “Talk to the hand.”
Great book – after the first glimpse seems to be superb.
Faceted classification is also great concept. Still remember the Colon Classification proposed by Rangagathan – which you described in “Everything ..”
I will suggest the book to my students and our developers….
Thinking about the search and its importance, I cannot resist to contemplate the path from search to operating systems…
