Glad Ubuntu is working for you. But, on one of my laptops, the linux partition mysteriously vanished. That was a dual boot machine. My other is pure Linux and 10.04 downgraded the graphics seriously; it now runs in low graphics mode, and I’ve been all over the Net trying every fix suggested.

So, I know Ubuntu has been trouble-free for some. For me, it’s like being back in the bad old days of Windows.

I have been a Windows user since it ran on DOS. I am now a Linux dude and the only maintenance I do on Ubuntu is click the “Install Updates” button. You can always run Sun Virtual Box if you still want/need a Windows environment.
