Readers respond to the Salon article (for-pay content) that claims that the focus on Spike has ruined Buffy. I particularly like the one that argues that Spike has always been the outsider looking in, not the Cool Fonzie guy as the article claims. It sure seems like Buffy's going to have to kill Spike in the last episode. But the show has been canny in the past about surprising us. Posted

Not to increase noise level, but why aren't there any women contributing?

Buffy won't be killing Spike. He's slated to appear on Angel next season.

Actually, that means nothing. Darla died in Buffy and then she showed up in Angel.

Buffy is a franchise. I feel like they are trying as hard as they can to give every one of the peripheral chararacters the best possible chance for their own spin-off. Makes for muddled story telling.
IMHO Spike isn't going to die at Buffy's hands. It's just not his character's arc.
