Knowing Up from Down in Windows

In Windows, the command to tile windows horizontally causes them to stack one on top of the other while tiling them vertically puts them side by side.

Look, I know I have a problem with left and right, but I thought I was pretty good about up and down. Is Microsoft purposefully trying to drive me mad?

I believe you are supposed to be thinking about this from the perspective of the window (BE the window :-). If you say horizontal, Windows allows each window to use the horizontal space across your screen, stacked one on top of another. The vertical choice allows each window to use the vertical space on your screen, stacked side by side.

I agree it is open to interpretation. And yes, MS is trying to drive you mad.

... and when in any drawing program of any description, I try to flip horizontal or flip vertical, I NEVER get it right the first time.
