True Geek

In the new version of Dreamweaver, if you want to change the default extension from .htm to .html, the configuration panel explains: You can change the default extension in the document type XML file."

Yes, you have to learn XML to change the default extension. In the next version, I hear that changing the font size will be a simple 3 step process:

  1. Download the source code.

  2. Type in the octal representing the new value.

  3. Recompile.

Voila!

We don't need no stinkin' XML.

In the grand tradition of Geeks everywhere - don't learn XML, just start mucking around.

Search files for ".htm", change it to ".html". If the extension doesn't change, or it screws other things up, change it back and look for another place to change.

Suprisingly little knowledge is required to truely mess things up. But, no Geek ever let that stop her.

Octal is good for the soul, but hex vexes.
