On the advice of commenters on my blog about the brokenness of Microsoft IE, I downloaded Firebird, an early build on Mozilla. The UI is minimalist but it has at least one cool feature: Hold down the control key when you click on a link and it loads the page in the background and makes it available to you as part of a tabbed interface. I've been using Opera as my default browser, and I like it a lot. And it, too, has one very cool feature: by holding down your right mouse button and swiping your mouse this way or that, it does things like closes the page or goes back or forward. I've gotten used to it. Posted

Check out nightly builds at http://optimoz.mozdev.org/gestures/installation.html
for mozilla gestures. Also, in prefs, you can set to load in background under general.

You don't even need the control+click . . . if you've got a three-button mouse or a mouse with a scroll wheel, just click on the link with your middle button/scroll wheel and it'll open in a new tab.

You don't even need to use CVS builds for mouse gestures. There are plugins you can download to enable it and if I remember correctly it was present in the config files, you just have to edit them to enable it.

Another cool thing about it is that the bookmarks are kept in html format. You can now easily export your bookmarks between different browsers or computers.
