The Problem with Social Networks

Jerry Michalski has a piece in RedHerring about why the explicitness of social networks such as Friendster get in their way. So true. And a theme — the price of explicitness — that's looming larger and larger in my own thinking about stuff. That and confusing clarity with truth. A

I...... just...... wonder, between the..... mislped wrdos...... & all dis ambiguity........ and earthquakes..... and generals acting like democrats..... and movie stars star cluster fucking..... where's teh happiness? Remember .... it's about people.... and last I looked.... peeps are explicit. I have a nose, eyes, mouth - pretty explicit. I may go by (or hide behind) my Fakester profile, but...... teh goal of being ambiguos..... gee..... I'm ambivalent about..... um............ it.
