Draft Bruce

Sign a petition asking The Boss to play a concert on September 1 with proceeds going to defeat Bush. The organizer, Andrew Rasiej, has already put Giants Stadium on hold for that day.

Hell, let's draft Bruce for VP...

As I used to hear some folks say back when I lived in New Jersey: Jersey is Springsteen and Springteen is Jersey! And they both suck!

How about Jenna Jameson for VP? I mean, it is not like you have to be particularly qualified to run for an elective office. After all, all you are really doing is distributing looting rights to people. Jenna is telegenic and seems to rather like money after all, so she would seem damn near ideal. But then, second thoughts, no... She is an unabashed porn star and thus probably too honest to actually be a politico... but then again, she does seem pretty good at faking orgasms so she might not be such a bad choice after all.

Not gonna happen, but I signed up for it anyway. Bruce kicks butt - listening to a show from Jersey last summer right now.

Yesterday I did an email interview with the organizer, Andrew Rasiej (chairman of Howard Dean's Tech Advisory Committee), and blogged it:

Here's a bit:

"What did it take to reserve Giants stadium?"

"Putting Giants Stadium on hold is not that big a deal as long as you are a credible customer to rent it. I founded Irving Plaza, a well known concert venue in NY, so I have strong music industry experience and lots of professional support."

It sounds credible.

and who is supporting a concert against Kerry for voting in favor of Iraq Resolution? Just wondering...ah but that would make sense now wouldn't it. Bah...simple partisan for the sake ignoring the reality of both sides politcal positions and past votes...silly really.

It is a protest concert, get it? You apolitical flag wavers should be able to understand that. I don't care one way or the other about Springsteen, but it's good to see some people are not "assuming the position" for the next election.
