I'm from the Netherlands, so on the other side of the pond. To me, somehow, Powell always had the possibility floating around him of becoming the first black president. And not a bad one at that.
Again, personal opinion: to me he got damaged *badly* by his association with Bush. HE was the one telling all those WMD lies in the security council...
Aw, anyway: might be fun. Powell for the republicans against the democrats' Hilary Clinton :-)

I wonder if ol' bushy is in that bush. She's just a kid. If she is to be the ramrod (pun intended) for the w'yba agenda--that agenda will have to rise and fall on the merits of his various propositions. I think he's ignorant and she's naive. Such a pairing makes for disaster.
On the other hand their pairing is blind and guiltless--it is ruthlessness plain and simple. If he is not as ignorant as I think, this pairing could be very successful in terms of getting what they want. But if he is as ignorant as I believe, if bush senior or even momma bush is really the brains behind him--this pairing is going to crash and burn. She relies on him to know where he is going and he relies on her to take him there. If you see Rumsfeld or Chenny leave--well, Houston we have a problem
