I dismissed this on first look, and then I came back and realized how careless and indifferent I have become to the widespread idea that being sentenced to hard time is accompanied by sexual abuse and physical danger. What ever happened to the repugnance for cruel and unusual punishment? Why do we tolerate that being incarcerated means being subject to inhumane treatment? Do we really want to give power to the idea of convicts as dispensers of justice (and crimes) that our courts do not? Are we so bent that we see this as the convicted receiving their just desserts? I feel dirty even considering this. Ick.

Well, child molesters are not introduced into the general populace at most prisons. And celebrities are not put into positions where they're subject to risk.

And there are different prison systems based on the crime. Martha Stewart was in a minimum security facility, and though these restrict movements, they're not harsh.

As for inhumane risk, if there was a one to one ratio between prisoners and guards, then the risk would be reduced. Of course, the cost would have to be pulled from other programs. And the only truly safe prison is one where prisoners are not allowed any interaction, and kept in cells, alone.I think most prisoners would take the risks over the isolation.

Providing access to training, interesting prison employment, sports and healthful activities, and college classes--and the possibility of losing access to these if they violate rules; making sure the places are maintained well, and kept clean; and not overcrowding prisons -- these are measures we should ensure.

Something to think on next time people vote for tax cuts.

Cause i find it abit offensive...
And i think it's sad when younger people who may not know too much about Michael, so when they google him and find alot of manipulated photos they get an non-fair image of Michael.. You know what im saying?
