Peter van Dijck continues his hunt for categories that are — whether they're labeled that way or not — "everything else." I find it slightly disturbing that I think this is a cool pursuit. [Technorati tag: taxonomy] Posted

What is so disturbing about this? Find me a home that doesn't have somewhere a drawer designated to hold all sorts of "junk," and it will not be inhabited by normal humans. Such categories simply provide "junk drawers" in our filing systems.

Could such categories be called (lightheartedly) *laxonomies* ?
