Debatepedia wants to collect the best arguments pro and con for issues that matter. It's not a place for people to shout at each other. On the contrary, it aims at assembling reasoned arguments. It's a noble idea. I don't know if it'll catch on, of course, but I do like the way the Web is shortening the MTBNI (mean time between noble ideas). I love this! "MTBNI" is a noble idea that the world has needed.
Debatepedia also sounds, well, like a noble idea.
My also-noble husband (Frank Wilczek) floated a proposal several years ago for "Science Court," a TV show where people could clearly debate scientific claims about issues like global warming or Atkins diets--you get the idea.
Frank's idea found no takers but Debatepedia sounds like a broader and cheaper version of the excellent plan.

That's an impressive site; it looks very information rich.
In a somewhat related vein, I've just started a website that organizes blog entries under debate questions. Truth be told, the idea occurred to me while reading Everything Is Miscellaneous (great book, BTW).
