| DOEP (Daily Open-Ended Puzzle) (intermittent): Past tense of wiki
|
At the symposium I'm at, we're discussing how long the conference wiki should be left up and editable, which raises the question: What is the past tense of wiki?

I like "wik".

Sleep:Slept
Wiki:Weke (or Weked)
or, using the construct of Hawaiian Creole (since Wiki-Wiki Web is originally from the Hawaiian language), "den-wiki"

Isn't there a rule you should never start and end a sentence with the word "isn't"?

'Waki', pronounced 'wokkie'. (Or, for simplicity, 'woki'.)
Isn't there a rule you should never start and end a sentence with the word "isn't"?
Why does humanity keep asking these rhetorical questions?

(I’m trying to come up with a topper, but I think you’ve stumped I’m.)

Cute answers; even a "Star Wars" option. But doesn't our language have enough irregular nouns?
"Wikied" seems the simplest, if less sophisticated, choice. In any case, common usage is likely to decide.
Isn't that where we're at? (Couldn't resist.) The users are the deciders in this medium. Wikiators and their allies, the Wikimeisters who write the software and run the projects, will be the developers of the tenses.
The verb "to wiki", BTW, is available for creation in the Wiktionary so anyone can get their ideas of the forms of tense in a draft first! "Wikify" is already done . . .

Maybe "wikive," short for "wiki archive."
