History of information

Arjan Vreeken has a history of the term and concept "information." It's especially strong in following its twists and turns from the Latin, through Shannon, and into the contemporary uses. Arjan is particularly interested in its relation to ontology, but "ontology" in its philosophical sense of the question of being. (Thanks to Abdur-Rahman Advany for the link.)
