Last night the cashier at the movie theater asked me if I wanted the senior discount. That starts at 60. I'm 56, so it's a reasonable question, but it means that the gap between how old I look and how old I think I look is widening faster than I'm aging. I reached the Ma'am zone three years ago. In my 40s. Well, 49, but still.
You should have just taken the discount. I plan to, 60 or not. If they're going to Ma'am me, I deserve recompense for the psychological damage.

Welcome to the Geezer Club! I've always looked older than I am; I've never been carded!
I'm 64 this year. I never ask for the senior discount. Maybe it's a pride thing but I prefer (and can afford) to pay my own way. I consider the discount for those on SS or other low retirement income.

Cheer up: you're not yet at the point where they give it to you without asking.
