Man arrested for shooting Cheney in the face. Correction: For voicing an opinion

A man joined the crowd around Dick Cheney at a conference in Colorado and told him that he thinks Cheney's Iraq policies are "reprehensible." Secret Service officers handcuffed him and charged him with assaulting the vice president. This makes perfect sense since, under new definition of torture as "aggressive questioning," the man was torturing Cheney.

In other news, President Bush assaulted the Constitutional separation of powers again today, signing a Congressional mandate that FEMA heads be minimally qualified for the job by adding a big "...NOT!" to it in the form of yet another "signing statement." Such actions as these two Colorado arrests really show the quality and intentions of the core Republican operational team. Not the Bush/Cheney level, they don't get involved at this level, but the local and regional machines the Elephants have built over the pat 25 years. Scary future if the Donkeys don't get some measure of control back soon.

"...the quality and intentions of the core Republican operational team. Not the Bush/Cheney level, they don't get involved...."

Now that they've got the ball rolling, they don't have to.

Remember, it was Cheney who preached that Haliburton should be allowed to do business with Iran when he was CEO. My advice: every citizen should buy a gun to defend yourself while you still can. An armed citizenry is a safe citizenry. More than ever, we can understand what the right to bear arms means when it comes to defending democracy from Rove Rage.

Amazing---whatever happened to free speech in the US? This arrest should be news. Sounds like North Korea or China where people are arrested and likely sent to a gulag for even trying to voice an opinion. Wonder if "W" has any secret gulags that we've yet to uncover. Perhaps 'post' election?
