Mercenary's side of the story

John Cass spoke with Mercenary Audio and got their side of the story about why they fired Drew Townson . Drew has been asked by his lawyer not to respond, but says (through our mutual friend) that he strongly disputes the company's account. As a result of all this publicity about the blog controversy--the most serious accusation was that Drew was doing this on company equipment during working hours--the concensus is emerging is that this company serves its customers well.

It seems that Drew's intent was not malicious, but was driven by his passion for the topic of professional audio. I would guess that customers would want to seek out a company where the employees are dedicated to maintaining their level of knowledge, so as to offer the best advice.

What I'm saying is that a blog could be used to distort the image a company might want to present to the world (literally), but the problem is not the blog, but the intent. Yeah, rules are rules but I think I little wiggle room might be in order.
