One Web Day and Yom Kippur

David Isenberg has a good post on One Web Day, Yom Kippur, and their coincidence tomorrow.

So, go celebrate the Web while we still have one that's distinguishable from cable TV.

And if I have hurt you in any way in the past year, I ask your forgiveness. I will try to do better next year, especially if you'll let me know what I did wrong (self@evident.com).

What you have done wrong is to let all your genuine comments get overwritten/masked by "wow power levelling" spam.

Wow. Is that what happened to my Peter Galison comment? That was a power leveler, for sure! :-)

fp, it's actually probably the case that I deleted your comment by accident when cleaning up some of the comment spam. I promise it was an accident. Sorry!

I used to filter out "wow power" but it was doing something funky. Maybe I'll try it again. (Hmm, if I do, won't it filter out this very comment?)

"...while we still have one that's distinguishable from cable TV."

You said it. Frankly, I'd rather dump IPTV for a hundred years rather than allow content or packet discrimination on the Web.

Even then, I have a feeling this is a false choice.

FWIW, here's a bunch of interviews I made at UIC in celebration of OneWebDay:

As Art Linkletter might've said, People say the darndest things.

P.S. Looks like you need a strong dose of Captcha.
