I am a major advocate of citizen journalism, and agree with the author that it is here to stay. In short, the genie is out of the bottle. Too many people have been empowered and are making important contributions for CJ to fade away.

I'm convinced it is fundamentally changing the way news and information are distributed. Is it replacing the Mainstream Media? Hardly. But, CJ is a powerful social phenomenon that cannot be ignored by traditional media.
