'accountabalism' - must be the opposite of accountability - like cannibalism is the opposite of philanthropy. Just a guess there.

David, there is an approach called "Most Significant Change" which has proved useful to evaluate the impact of various non-profit initiatives. It may also be useful in certain problems in the for-profit world. Here is a link to the Most Significant Change documentation.

Thanks for the link. I look forward to joining the discussion with Suzanne on the 24th. This is a topic we're keenly interested in at the Center for Creative Community Development (although our specific interest is evaluation of the economic and social impacts of arts programming, a niche within the larger field of nonprofit evaluation). We're trying to put together free online advice and tools for economic and social impact evaluation strategies that are not overly demanding on time and money, so I'll be happy to hear more from Suzanne.
