Google Calendar looks useful, but it doesn't sync with Palm, so it is dead to me. With a commodity product such as a calendar, the nits are determinative. (BTW, syncing is not the same as importing and exporting.) [Tags: google palm calendar] Posted

Though for other things when you travel without anything is very useful.

Have you tried Airset? It's free and has many of the same features as Google calendar, plus others, such as syncing with Palm.

Upload the calendar file with ftp to your server, and then subscribe the calendar from Google. ftp uploads can be automated in many ways.

Calendar interoperability is indeed a real-world problem. There's a group of folks interested in this problem (actually, a set of inter-related problems) who've been working on it together over the last couple of years in the CalConnect Calendaring Consortium (www.calconnect.org).
With the emergence of the CalDav protocol we've got the best chance we've seen in years of actually having an interoperable protocol that could support the same kind of device and software independence we now take for granted in email.
If you're interested, CalConnect holds quarterly (except for summer) roundtables and interoperability events that are great examples of talented technical folks from diverse organizations coming together to work on these issues.

Re: no sync yet...
There's a reason it's called "Beta"...they're not finished with it (not even close.) Just look how many features they've added to Gmail Beta since it first launched. And, since they released the API, it's only a matter of time 'til we'll be deciding *which* sync tool is the best of the bunch...

Hi,
if you have got Outlook 2003, you can sync BOTH ways with Google Calendar with the plugin RemoteCalendars
http://sourceforge.net/projects/remotecalendars
Here are the instructions
http://remotecalendars.sourceforge.net/google.htm
In this way, you can sync EVERY PDA you've got with Outlook ;)...
