Five soldiers in Iraq have been carrying video cameras with them throughout the past year. Working continuously with a director via IM, they have produced a 94-minute version of the film set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 29. It is non-partisan, or perhaps multi-partisan...How could you be a soldier in Iraq and not have points of view? At TheWarTapes.com you can see the latest clips from these citizen-soldier journalists. And the site is also a blog and a place for others to submit their images, words and stories. Remarkable. It is a site that shows how everything has changed. Man I hope you have enough balls to relize that you were there to defend this great country and not take advantage and make a BUCK. How ever I do not support the war I still belive you must obey your offericers and do your job. I hope you donate any money you make from this.
I have served over 8 years of my life. Black Hawk down. My unit saved those Rangers, everybody in my squaed was shot, I lost a very good freind their, we were privets and Sergents together. I fell you should not take advantage of what you were told to do, Just do it and Move on. At the same time I appericate what you did over their. Just keep it to your self Man. Just do your job and come home, thats it.

Spell Check Mike. I just wanted to say that the link is broken to the video. I would love review this tidbit of media.

The film was explosively powerful, and gave the viewer a semblance of the erratic nature of an attack. Yet, it is disconcerting that the directors of this film were far from the detonations and carnage. The true filmmakers were the soldiers, each of whom had a distinct personality and point of view. It mixed the terror of an ambush with moments of comedic relief provided by Mike Moriarti and his Bostonian comments. It reveals the true color of war: the mangled bodies, hatred, openmindedness, humor, and senselessness of combat. It is what our media should show. No more oh I can't watch's, or it's too terrible's, or look away's, LOOK and see, maybe then Joe Public might actually feel something more than a light tremor. Great film.

This is directed to Hollingsworth. Who are you and ahhhhh which unit did you say you were from again? Your "unit" saved the Rangers!?!
Let me invite you to www.armyranger.com and you can share your heroic exploits with us "POSER"!!!
As for the film, I have only seen clips of it however regardless of whether or not I agree with their point of view, or whether or not I can even comprehend how a solider can take the time to produce such a thing while "in country". I find it "entertaining" that this documentary if you want to call it that was made in the first place. I'm looking forward to seeing it, I certainly hope that it protrays a version of being in the sandbox that has not been captured on film.
Certainly our "main-stream" so called liberal media either hasn't or haven't had the ability to do such a piece because of either bias or political presssure. But I hope it is a decent movie that does not take a Michael Moore approach in conveying its viewpoint.

I'm inclined to agree with David on all points except one. I will wait until I hear feedback from people who have seen the movie, and not just the producer's selling points whether directly or through the media before I decide if I want to see it.
I have no desire to see another movie disguising political partisanship (of either slant) as "documentary".

I just reviewed everything I could find on this movie...I would very much like to see it. I have not been able to find listings in Florida. A Lake Worth listing was old, not there now.
I am a mother of two sons who have served in Iraq, one is back for second tour. I do not believe in this war, or the reasons for getting into it...however, I do love the fighting men and women, and care about how they must feel as they watch the hopeless seesaw of attack/win/fallback/attack again...and risk their lives for such an uncertainty...how do we make people free and give them a better life when we are indiscriminately killing them?
just call me a concerned mom in USA
