It's an interesting question because the analyst companies sell their authority as much as their data — believe them when they say the size of the Asian bronzed shoe market will be $1.27 billion this year and $1.31 B next year. I wonder what it would take to have an Open Source Gartner not only with the same accuracy but with enough credibility that one could site it with confidence.
