  1. Very cool… I remember them in Montgomery Ward stores in the 1950s, I think, and at the drive-through windows of banks much later. (Perhaps still? Since the advent of electronic deposits and ATMs, I no longer use the drive-through window.)

    But being a rural girl, I had no idea they were used over such great distances in cities.
