[POPTECH] Support Jonathon Coulton

“All that makes me weak and strange will be engineered away.”

So, here’s a young guy writing uniquely funny songs, reminiscient of Tom Lehrer. Yeah, almost that good. (His Mandelbrot Set song got PopTech’s only standing ovation – unfortunately, none of the songs he performed here are on his Web site.) No fucking recording company stands between you and him. Support the hell out of him.

  1. Actually, his song Mandelbrot Set is on his website:
    http://www.jonathancoulton.com/music/Jonathan%20Coulton%20-%20Mandelbrot%20Set.mp3

And it is fabulous: tuneful, funny, sweet, and technically accurate!

  2. All of the songs that he performed are on his website. Some are under a different page, so click around and you’ll find them. I posted links to all of that stuff on my weblog if you need it.

  3. Your comment about there not being a recording company between me and him struck a nerve. What if when someone downloaded a Jonathan Coulton song via Kazaa, a link appeared somewhere on the page directing the user to a website where they could donate some money to Jonathan if they were so inclined? Maybe just a link to paypal button on Jonathan’s website What if that became widespead? I was just writing about that yesterday.
