The David-Centric Universe

Apparently it’s all about me today. I’ve been paynted — you know, Frank Paynter’s long-form interview. (Please ignore the boxed testimonials. I’ve asked Frank to remove them.)

  1. I’ll remove the testimonials tonight when I’m at a blog-o-centric PC with the necessary ftp. You are of course too modest David.

And thank you again for doing this.

At least I had a good lesson in creating borders and using CSS styles. I can thank meg for that!

  2. Boxed endorsements and testimonials have been removed.

  3. David, in making Frank remove the testimonials, which were moderately interesting and certainly didn’t detract from the interview, aren’t you being a little too controlling? And generally an illustration of why Why Creators Shouldn’t Own What They Create?

  4. Frank honored my request. I found the testimonials embarrassing. I had mixed feelings about asking Frank to remove them, but only because I know people put some time and thought into them.

So, no, I don’t think I was being too controlling. But, then, people who are too controlling never do.

  5. The ‘testimonials’ were nice, and it must be gratifying to know that people like and admire you that much, but I think the interview does read more like an interview rather than a commercial without the testimonials, and removing them was a good call.

(I feel sad for Frank, though, because did work himself down to the bones getting them, and was roundly abused once for his effort.)

All in all, an excellent interview.

  6. Thanks, Shelley. Frank worked really hard on making it look easy. And, being the good host that he is, he didn’t let me know anything about gathering testimonials much less that someone abused him for it.

I am and remain a Frank admirer.

  7. An excellent interview and an excellent blog you have here.

  8. I selfishly saved my own remarks about the interview until I could blog it–David and Frank will have to fight it out over which of them is Refrigerator Perry.
