Irony-dectomy

David Zucker, the producer of Airplane, Naked Gun, and Ruthless People, has made a movie — supported by the Republican Club for Growth (remember the “sushi-eating, Volvo-driving” anti-Dean ad?) — that lampoons Kerry for being a flipflopper.

Without the slightest sense of irony, Zucker promotes himself as a former Democrat who now is a Republican.

  1. When did Zucker say he was now a Republican? The article implied that he was now a republican, but he is not. It’s just bad journalism. Zucker is still a liberal Democrat, he is just trusting national security to Bush. All other issues, he is the same.

  2. Either way, Zucker’s a damn flippity-flopper. Of course, since I like a person who can change his mind, I applaud him for it.

  3. someone needs to make a movie that shows the resolute groom walking down the aisle, knowing he’s found the one, marrying the beautiful bride, and then when he goes in for the kiss he unfortunately discovers she’s a man.
