Raid on Wikipedia

The Great Wiki Raid of ’05 begins at 12:01 A.M. 31 October. For 24 hours futurists from around the world will mount a “knowledge assault” on Wikipedia.org, the world’s largest collaborative online encyclopedia. Their goal is simple: to improve public knowledge about the field of futures studies.

I thank you for paying attention to us futurists! I put a few thoughts up on the implications of Wiki Raids and why I think they are so important over at http://www.como.typepad.com. I appreciate you taking a moment to consider my thoughts.
I agree with you the way you view the issue. I remember Jack London once said everything positive has a negative side; It is also interesting to see different viewpoints & learn useful things in the discussion.
Quoting myself, from Template talk:Profanities: I do not see any use for this template. Predicting what will offend people is not part of Wikiquote mandate. Mirror sites may wish to add their own tags, and their own filtering systems. Wikiquote can never be “child safe” in any case, do to the risk of vandalism, and the chance of articles not being properly classified
I’ve had disappointments and heartbreaks and setbacks and roles I didn’t get, but something always came along that either made me better or was an even better role.
